Western Powersports Making a Big Showing at J&P’s Open House

By: Mitch Winder — Western Powersports, Inc.

Hey, J&P customers and fans! You may not recognize the Western Powersports name, and that’s OK, because we’re here to change all that. The folks at J&P have graciously entrusted me with this blog post so I can tell you about some of the cool and exciting things we’re bringing to the J&P Open House, June 25-26, 2011, in Anamosa, Iowa.

So who the heck is Western Powersports? We are a major motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile and watercraft parts and accessories distributor that supplies many of the items you purchase from J&P. And besides our many familiar brands, we’re excited to introduce some new and hot items that you can see up close and personal at J&P’s Open House on June 25 and 26.

Here’s just a partial run-down of the companies that have already committed to attending:

Fly Street Gear – Fly is a leading brand of riding gear and hard parts known throughout the off-road and motocross segment. Fly has taken what they’ve learned over the years and applied it to an exciting new line of street gear. Everyone from casual commuters to sportbike riders, metric cruiser riders, and even V-Twin riders seeks after this equipment.

Fly Street Gear is packed with unique features, proven materials and cutting-edge styling — all at prices that are easy on your budget. You might not be familiar with the name, but you will be. The spring launch of this line has been nothing short of phenomenal. And like its off-road sibling, Fly Street is well on its way to becoming a leader in the street segment. The cool thing is that you will be able to step up and try on most everything at the Open House.

Shinko Tires – The Shinko name needs no introduction among sportbike riders, stunters and drag racers. And now it’s becoming legendary with the cruiser crowd – both metric & V-Twin. Shinko is the fastest-growing tire line in the United States — with good reason. Shinko is all about value and performance. The company has a tire to fit just about any bike. That includes everything from two levels of sportbike tires, to various price points for both metric and V-Twin cruisers, vintage motorcycles, scooters, and even two types of tires specifically designed exclusively for drag racing. Be sure to stop by the Shinko booth and check out what’s available for your bike.

G-Max Helmets – G-Max has earned a reputation in recent years as The Brand That Fits.   With several helmet styles —for scooters, cruisers, sportbikes, and off-road – there’s a comfortable G-Max helmet for you. There are several new models for 2011 with cutting-edge styling, features and graphics. And we think you’ll be surprised at how easy these helmets are on your budget. The G-Max name stands for value and you will be able to see the G-Max lineup firsthand at the Open House.

Contour Video – Contour was the first wearable compact HD video camera. The Contour line features two cameras, the first of which is a high-definition version capable of producing videos in stunning 1080P resolution. Contour’s second camera features an integrated GPS receiver capable of tracking your location multiple times with pinpoint accuracy. Both Contour HD video cameras feature easy one-hand operation, extended battery life, and a choice of resolutions to further extend the life of the already very powerful battery. There’s also a long list of accessories, so the uses for your Contour camera is virtually endless. And new for 2011 is the Contour Connect View card, which allows you to use your iPhone or Android phone to sync with your camera so you can see what your camera sees right on your phone.

UClear Communication – UClear is the first boomless microphone bike-to-bike communication system available to the public. At the heart of the system are two speakers that fit neatly in most any motorcycle helmet. The speakers contain small laser beams that meet in front of the wearer’s mouth that look for voice cues and then cancel out virtually all external noise. What this means is anyone that wears an open-face helmet, or half-helmet, can communicate without a boom microphone. The UClear system lets you make and receive calls, listen to music, syncs with GPS, and installs in minutes. Be sure to stop by the booth and see the demonstration.

Factory representatives of all the above companies will be on hand to demonstrate their products and answer any questions.  It’s set to be a great weekend. We look forward to meeting you and showing you the latest in products.
