We’ve Added ‘Rally’ to Our Open House Handle

J&P Cycles Open House Rally logo 2012It’s really no big deal, but we’ve gone ahead and tagged the word “rally” onto the back end of our 33rd annual J&P Cycles Open House – mainly because it best describes an event that promises to be the biggest and best in more than three decades.

You might be asking how we can justify a statement as grand as that, but here’s the deal: This extravaganza — now known as the J&P Cycles Open House Rally – is scheduled for June 23 & 24 at our headquarters outside Anamosa, Iowa. And this year’s event will feature representatives from an unprecedented 100 different motorcycle brands who will be on site — and actively on hand — to show off their merchandise from dozens of booths and a staggering 20 semi-trailers!

Here’s the short list of activities:

  • Visitors will be able to witness Geoff Aaron’s gravity defying Red Bull Extreme Stunt Show, as well as 1 Wheel Revolution’s V-twin stunt riders Rob Carpenter and Chris Rayburn.
  • If you’d rather be a participant than a spectator, you can sign up for the ride-in bike shows on Saturday, sponsored for all makes and models by American Iron, Motorcycle Bagger and RoadBike. Registration will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. and is limited to the first 50 bikes. The Sunday show is for vintage and retro bobber motorcycles and registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. That show is also limited to the first 50 bikes. The entry fee for both shows is $15 per bike. The awards ceremonies for both shows will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Classes include: Class Awards, Sponsor’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and Best Paint.
  • Rally visitors can save big time on J&P Cycles’ enormous inventory of parts and accessories throughout the weekend. Most products in the showroom will be 10 percent off (15 percent for Gold Club members) and a 40-by-40-foot tent will be devoted to drastically reduced clearance items priced at up to 50 percent off.
  • You can sign up to win more than $5,000 in door prizes. Plus, make a donation for a chance to win the National Motorcycle Museum’s 2012 Indian Chief. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the National Motorcycle Museum. And while you’re at it, you might as well grab a burger or hotdog in the food tent sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company.

The J&P Cycles annual Open House Rally event gets bigger each year and we expect nothing less this year! More than 25,000 of our customers attended last year.

Our first open house started out as a simple Customer Appreciation Day, hosted by co-founders John and Jill Parham to thank customers for their business throughout the year. Now, as the world’s largest aftermarket retailer of parts and accessories for Harley-Davidson, Cruiser, Gold Wing and Sport Bike motorcycles, this event has turned into a two-day rally. Outside of Sturgis, this is one of the only places in the Midwest to see this many motorcycle manufacturers in one area.

So, make plans now to attend June 23 and 24. You will be glad you did! Check out our event on Facebook, add to your calendar and share with friends.
