Take a Little Comfort and Protection from Alpinestars

As this most terrible of winters in a century thankfully draws to a close, a lot of us are venturing out, getting back in the saddle and hitting the road. But temps remain a bit cool, and we’ve got the perfect apparel to make it easy to stay geared up and still be comfortable.

It’s not quite time for a t-shirt and a cool breeze, but the folks at Alpinestars offer motorcycle clothing and gear for everyone from road racers to NASCAR drivers. They walk that fine line between keeping you in good shape in the event of a “get off” and saving you from boiling in your jacket.

One such product is the Verona Air Jacket, made of a dual 450 denier polyester outer shell with mesh inserts. It features excellent ventilation and abrasion resistance and has removable shoulder and elbow protection. What’s most important is that it’s made for riding by people who ride. And at $159, it’s not going to break the bank.

A couple of years back, after a slight “incident” on a side street, I started wearing gloves every time I left the house on a motorcycle. Before that, I was resistant to the idea because I thought it would make my hands sweat or that it would make control of the bike feel clunky. And that’s certainly a possibility if you happen to pick up the wrong pair of gloves. With the Alpinestars Raven glove, that isn’t the case. It gives a great feedback and feel of the bike while keeping you cool with breathable mesh panels. In addition, it has web padding along the knuckles and fingers and reinforcement along the palm.

So for around $200, you can pick up a few pieces of great gear for warm-weather riding that will keep you safe and comfortable in the saddle.
