Reward Yourself for Successful New Year’s Resolutions!

Lose 10 pounds. Quit smoking. Find a better job. Spend more time with the family. These are some of the more familiar New Year’s resolutions that people make a commitment to undertake each year. And as we turn the page on another year and look ahead to 2011, we here at J&P Cycles want to share some of our own resolutions with you.

As we all know, New Year’s resolutions sound good on paper but are often difficult to accomplish. In fact, some of them are history by January 2nd. To help you buck that trend, what we offer below are some quick tips that might just help you keep your eye on the prize — successfully fulfilling a promise to yourself:

  • Set realistic goals – If you aim too high, you may be met with failure. Set realistic goals and timeframes. Successfully reaching a smaller goal will give you energy and motivation to continue on.
  • Set fewer goals – Rather than taking on five resolutions, concentrate your efforts on one or two.
  • Tell other people – Those who verbally commit to something publicly are more likely to follow through. Friends and family can also provide support and motivate you to continue on when you feel you can’t.
  • Reward yourself – If you’ve reached your goal, reward yourself and celebrate. Having a reward waiting for you upon completion of a goal might be just the motivational push you need when the going gets tough.

We hope you reach the goals you set for the New Year. Of course, when it comes to the reward segment of the resolution process, J&P Cycles is here to assist you. With more than 90,000 motorcycle parts available online and the absolute best technical support on the planet, you know J&P is the place to go to pick up your hard-fought, well-deserved prize.

Just shut up and ride. Time spent on arguing politics, religion, or anything else is wasted riding time. Ride out your feelings and you will be at peace with the world.
