Our 32nd Annual Open House Was a Smashing Hit – No Surprise There

No need to call Ripley’s Believe It or Not, because it was a given that J&P Cycles’ 32nd anniversary celebration and Open House would be an enormous success, drawing more than 25,000 visitors and loyal customers to the small town of Anamosa, Iowa, this past weekend. This two-day event was the largest party we’ve thrown to date, and we couldn’t be any more appreciative to our thousands of friends, fans and customers!

We had folks tell us they drove in from Canada, California, Florida, Washington State — and everywhere else — just to join in the two-wheel wonderfulness that is our open house. It was due to these multitudes of visitors, arriving on every means of transportation imaginable that made this year’s event such a fun happening. The people watching alone were worth the fuel bill.

Once they arrived, visitors were treated to entertainment and free food. That’s right. The hot dogs and hamburgers were gratis. And the entertainment was, as is is every yearexceptional, with Extreme Obstacle Rider Geoff Aaron providing thrills with his amazing skills. The ILL Conduct Motorcycle Stunt Team wowed the crowd with its action-packed show, and crowds marveled at the precision talents of the Daytona Harley-Davidson Drill Team.

A silent auction benefitting the National Motorcycle Museum raised more than $7,000 – which is the largest amount we’ve ever collected. And more than $5,000 in door prizes were given away to lucky attendees over the two-day event. We especially want to thank our gracious manufacturers and vendors for donating some fantastic items for the auction and door prizes!

And if an occasional guest grew weary of all the free food and entertainment, a huge vendor area featuring booths manned by staff members from more than 80 motorcycle and bike parts manufacturers was available throughout the grounds. In addition to displaying the latest and trendiest wares in the industry, customers were able to purchase most items in the J&P Cycles’ showroom. And if they brought their bikes with them, we even installed their purchases while they waited. It’s that kind of service that keeps folks coming back to the cornfields of Eastern Iowa year after year.

We here at J&P had such a good time that we’re going to do it again next year! Again, absolutely no need to call Ripley’s. Our 33rd anniversary party will be June 23 and 24, 2012. Make plans to attend. And thanks again to all of you who  made it out here this year!
