OKC-FlatTrack-2016After over 15 years AMA Pro Flat Track Racing is officially making a return to Oklahoma City at the newly renovated Remington Park. The event has been added to the official AMA schedule for 2016 dated to premiere on Saturday, June 18th. The race will make history for Oklahoma as it will mark the first Mile event held in the Sooner state.  Racing fans have been starved of the action ever since the speedway at the fairgrounds was torn down in 1999 making the return of racing this year a major priority to fans in the area. Additionally the race is promised to be an entertaining experience incorporating family friendly activities to suit the Father’s Day weekend the race falls upon. Hardcore fans, family, friends, and motorcycle enthusiasts are all welcome to join the adrenaline pumping event. For more information check out the Oklahoma City Mile Website

Women Riders on the Rise

womenriderchartIt seems that all the marketing focus on women some motorcycle manufacturers have picked up is paying off with the number of lady riders increasing every year. Female motorcycle ownership for 2016 set the record with an all time high taking 14% of all U.S. motorcycle owners. Leading motorcycle manufacturers have been working to reverse the long established stereotypes of women and motorcycles. Dealerships have increasingly become more responsive to women which has helped push the drive of sales to women. Women also have been stepping up to the plate with motorcycle education a recent survey found that 60% of lady riders took a motorcycle safety course and 49% do their own maintenance. Additionally this same survey showed that 47% of women riders have a college or post graduate degree showing that women who ride are not only educated already but are furthering their knowledge in both college and the motorcycle world. We hope to see this trend of women getting in the saddle continue.
