Women Riders on the Rise
It seems that all the marketing focus on women some motorcycle manufacturers have picked up is paying off with the number of lady riders increasing every year. Female motorcycle ownership for 2016 set the record with an all time high taking 14% of all U.S. motorcycle owners. Leading motorcycle manufacturers have been working to reverse the long established stereotypes of women and motorcycles. Dealerships have increasingly become more responsive to women which has helped push the drive of sales to women. Women also have been stepping up to the plate with motorcycle education a recent survey found that 60% of lady riders took a motorcycle safety course and 49% do their own maintenance. Additionally this same survey showed that 47% of women riders have a college or post graduate degree showing that women who ride are not only educated already but are furthering their knowledge in both college and the motorcycle world. We hope to see this trend of women getting in the saddle continue.
