J&P Cycles Is All Over Sturgis Next Month

J&P Cycles will be well represented at next month’s 70th annual Sturgis Rally & Races, where the tiny South Dakota town of Sturgis is seemingly transformed overnight into “Motorcycle City USA.”

We’ll be there the first half of August with not one, but two fully stocked stores — and that doesn’t even count our big rig at the corner of 8th Street and Lazelle in downtown Sturgis.

The main Harley parts store, located at 1650 Lazelle Street in the downtown area, opens this Saturday (July 31, 2010). The Metric parts store will open on Wednesday, Aug. 4. We’re also going to be represented at 1801 Lazelle Street, where our J&P semi will be parked and open for business — surrounded by the biggest and best manufacturers in the industry. Downtown Sturgis is the place to be from Aug. 8-15, if motorcycles are your passion.

Not only can you purchase a variety of products for your ride, but you can have them installed, while you’re at it. J&P mechanics will be available daily to do parts installation and service work. Tire and exhaust installation will be performed daily at the main store and the 8th and Lazelle location. Plus, if you buy a Memphis Shades windshield, the installation is free. And while you’re hanging around the J&P lot, meet Paul Teutul Jr. from American Chopper. After a hiatus from his television show, Paul Junior’s back with a brand-new show called American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior, which debuts next month. You can catch a sneak preview of the new TV show as well as see a brand new build at Sturgis where Junior will be unveiling his first project featuring Bikers Choice parts and accessories.

And since it’s nearly impossible to see too many amazing bike builds, J&P is a sponsor of the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building at Sturgis. The world’s top custom bike builders display their creations to showcase and promote international custom motorcycle design. This free four-day event opens on the first Sunday at Sturgis (Aug. 8), culminating in an awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

For the most up-to-date information on the Sturgis Rally, visit www.sturgis.com. Here you can find photos, you can shop, view the message board and see an events schedule. Plus, you can pick and choose from among the biggest and best concerts – all in one location — from Bob Dylan, ZZ Top – Sturgis is the place to see them all!

Whether you’re coming for the week or a few days, there is plenty to do and see in Sturgis. Ride safe!
