From Laughlin to Myrtle Beach — We’re on the Road Again

Our tractor-trailer crew has just about enough time to wash the J&P rig, stock it to the bulkheads with new motorcycle gear and fill her up with diesel before hitting the road again. Rally season is underway, with the first scheduled stop at one of the largest biker events in the West — the 2012 Laughlin River Run in Laughlin, Nev., from April 25 through 29.

The massive 53-foot-long J&P trailer has been renovated in order to accommodate more vendors then ever before, all housed under a giant new awning. We’ve got vendors from the likes of Zox helmets and Rikki from Battisinis himself  – all on hand to answer your questions as well as install your purchases for free! Also new to the road show, we’ll be hauling along a huge selection of tires. Just ask a J&P rep about installs and service work.

We’re going to be splitting our forces that week, with another crew from J&P attending the 16th annual Leesburg Bikefest, a three-day motorcycle rally and music event in Leesburg, Fla., Festivities run from April 27 to 29. So if Daytona didn’t take every ounce of fun out of you, swing on down to Leesburg and try again.

After we pack up and leave Laughlin, the J&P rig rolls across the country to Myrtle Beach for the Carolina’s largest motorcycle event. Myrtle Beach Bike Week, which runs from May 11 through 20, doesn’t actually take place in the city of Myrtle Beach. The city wants you to know that right off the bat! Instead, it encompasses a 60-mile crescent of beaches on the South Carolina coast called the Grand Strand.

So there you have it — a brief rundown of our activities for the next month. After that? Well, we’re going to take a short break. See you amongst the bikes!

About the Author:

Patrick Garvin began his stint with J&P Cycles at the start of 2008 after doing some installs for us at Daytona and Sturgis for two years. Currently, Patrick splits his time between the eCommerce team and purchasing, finding new and exciting products for our website and catalog. When he’s not at his desk, he’s zigzagging across the country with J&P’s event crew. Patrick has an obsession with going fast on just about anything, a trait he shares with his 6-year-old son Race. You can usually find both of them wrenching in the garage or ripping through the fields on dirt bikes. Emma, his beautiful wife of 7-plus years, puts up with his antics and keeps his head screwed on because he certainly wouldn’t be able to find it without her.
