Winter was a long one – for sure! For those of you who have had to sit and look at your motorcycle from the shop stool in the garage, you may have been taking mental notes of the spring and summer to come: where to go, when to go and who might be coming with you have crossed your mind while patiently waiting to pull the bike back onto the highway. It will be a great summer if you just let it. Be patient, relax when you … Continue Reading
J&P Cycles knows how to have one hell of a bash in the cornfields of Eastern Iowa! 2013 marks the 34th annual event, which is now called the J&P Cycles Open House Rally. This year’s event is scheduled for June 29-30. Founders John and Jill Parham started the original one-day event as a customer appreciation of sorts to thank their loyal customers for their business. Today that one-day event has grown into two and is bigger than ever!
Last year more than 30,000 motorcyclists converged on Anamosa, Iowa and the J&P Cycles headquarters. This year we hope to up the ante and attract even more. Ryan Hurst who plays … Continue Reading

I was recently asked how many miles I have on my ’02 Road King. After explaining that I just traded for it and because of that have only put about 7,000 miles on it since July, I got the usual “7,000 miles since July?” look. You’ve seen it too. It is the wide-eyed, mouth open, step back look. The follow up question to that is usually “how in the world do you ride that many miles in just a few months?”
In a couple more days, J&P Cycles will be engulfed with motorcyclists from around the country. If you like what you see, make sure to come and check it out for yourself.
There are lots of reasons to attend the two-day J&P Cycles Open House Rally June 23 and 24, and top among them is the opportunity to mingle with 25,000 of your closest biker friends. In addition, this year’s event features free food, sponsored by Allstate, hundreds of vendors, great deals on parts and spectacular bike shows.
Did I mention the bike shows? Two of my personal all-time favorites will be on hand that weekend and they’re looking forward to coming here just as much as we’re looking forward to them being here. We’re talking about 10-time AMA Trials champ Geoff Aaron and revolutionary V-Twin stunters 1Wheel Revolution.
