Biketoberfest 2014

November 14, 2014 | By: Patrick Garvin

The leaves started to turn red and orange here in Iowa, so we took that as a sign that we needed to head south and visit our home away from home (otherwise known as the J&P Cycles Destination Daytona Superstore). Just so happened there was a bike rally going on; the biker version of the fall classic was in full swing as we rolled into the sunshine state. Since we figured this might be the last time we get to see the sun for a few months we took full advantage of our time Daytona to run the Biketoberfest gauntlet. We didn’t want to keep all the good times … Continue Reading

I’m not really big on bike shows – mainly because I really don’t care if someone else likes my bike or not, and I have never understood why you would roll your bike out for some random dude to “judge.” I mean it’s your bike, why would you care what someone else thinks of it? That being said, I love the Tropical Tattoo show that Willie and his crew put on because … Continue Reading

In the midst of the excitement surrounding the Daytona Beach Biketoberfest set up, an associate at J&P Cycles’ Iowa headquarters received a phone call from an editor at the Daytona Beach News Journal.   The newspaper wanted to send a straight-laced reporter into the store to be outfitted as a biker and do so the following day.

Always up for any challenge, we reached out to staff in Florida who jumped at the opportunity. Andrew (the reporter) came into the store as a typical reporter and came out of the dressing room very different.

Check out the article and video here.

Biketoberfest Blast Underway in Daytona Beach

2

October 14, 2011 | By: Jeff Liller

The 19th edition of Biketoberfest got underway yesterday in Daytona Beach, Fla., and while many states are chilling up, those of us lucky enough to live and work in Florida are at a point where a light jacket is reasonable evening wear.

And the onset of what we call fall here in Florida only accents the sounds of motorcycle engines, the shine of chrome and the smells of various meats on sticks.

If you can find your way down here, you will most assuredly not be disappointed. In fact, the only drawback to Biketoberfest is there’s not enough time to squeeze it all in. The event runs through … Continue Reading
