Bridgestone Breaks Into the American Cruiser Market with the Battlecruise H50
When choosing tires for your cruiser, you quickly learn that there’s only a few brands in the market to choose from. Bridgestone is now giving American V-twin riders more options with the launch of their Battlecruise H50. Whether you ride a Harley-Davidson, Indian, or Victory motorcycle, the Bridgestone H50 is a great choice for an aftermarket tire.
I read about the science and specs put into the tire a few weeks ago. It looked promising, but I’m not one to believe everything I read. So, I flew down to Orlando, Florida to test ride the tire for myself.
I’ve run Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli, and Avon tires on my Harley, and I have no doubt that the Battlecruise will be a major competitor for large displacement bikes. I was able to cruise around Florida back roads for several hours testing the tire out on a variety of Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles. I have to say, the tire offered performance I could feel. I had the opportunity to lean deep into some curves. The tire gripped to the asphalt making me feel like I could really push the speed through the turns without risk of sliding. The tire took bumps like they weren’t even there. The tire did what it was supposed to do, giving me confidence and control over the ride.
Bridgestone boasts in the tire’s design providing excellent handling with reduced steering effort. The Battlecruise H50 tire offers a large contact patch and uniform contact pressure, creating high cornering force, resulting in less steering effort and light linear handling. The state of the art tread pattern offers strong wet and dry traction with tread that enhances grip while evacuating water. Bridgestone ensures a long tread life with compounds constructed from the latest technology in materials science. The Battlecruise H50 is poised to achieve up to 20,000 miles; a substantial increase from competitors.
The Battlecruise H50 is a great choice for the American cruiser rider who wants to replace their stock tire and quickly get back on the road with a performance tire that will last. However, if you’re looking to customize your bagger you’re going to have to wait for Bridgestone to release larger sizes. The initial release will offer eight sizes for select cruiser models. Fourteen additional sizes for touring models will become available in early 2018.
If you’re looking for performance over flash, the Bridgestone Battlecruise H50 is sure to offer you a smooth ride.
