Bike Week’s Best Kept Secret

Bike Week’s Best Kept Secret

The Loop 6When you think of Daytona Bike Week, you think about all the vendors, events and the biker bars.

One of the most spectacular things to do is often overlooked and that’s riding the Loop. It is one of the most majestic rides in Florida and it’s right here in Daytona Beach, starting at the Granada Bridge headed north on John Anderson Drive in Ormond Beach.

The Loop is a 22-mile ride that starts out through a beautiful residential area along the intracoastal waterway, and is then greeted by beautiful trees that cathedral the winding roadway. When you reach High Bridge Road, turning left takes you over the Halifax River and through some breathtaking marshland. At Walter Boardman Road, take another left, and enjoy more of Florida’s most beautiful countryside.

When you get to Old Dixie Hwy, you will take another left headed south back toward Ormond Beach. This last trek of the Loop has more of Florida’s natural beauty including some of the state’s oldest living oak trees. Along the Loop, you’ll find several pull offs and state parks where I recommend you pull over, take a break, have a bite to eat and enjoy the scenery.

If you’re looking to escape the masses of motorcycles while at Daytona Bike Week, take a ride on the Loop. Who knows what you’ll find; you may even find yourself.
