The summer months at J&P Cycles are chock full of events, events and more events! It’s almost like we’re trying to cram 12 months worth of activity into three months, and that’s because we live in Eastern Iowa. We take advantage of the great weather when we can get it.
Coming up on the immediate horizon, we’ve got two events on the books – starting off with Cruise Night on July 12. We host Cruise Night a couple of times each summer where the emphasis is celebrating fast cars, fancy motorcycles and fellowship. This year, the Cruise Night series will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, which is just … Continue Reading
No need to call Ripley’s Believe It or Not, because it was a given that J&P Cycles’ 32nd anniversary celebration and Open House would be an enormous success, drawing more than 25,000 visitors and loyal customers to the small town of Anamosa, Iowa, this past weekend. This two-day event was the largest party we’ve thrown to date, and we couldn’t be any more appreciative to our thousands of friends, fans and customers!
We had folks tell us they drove in from Canada, California, Florida, Washington State — and everywhere else — just to join in the two-wheel wonderfulness that is our open house. It was due to these multitudes … Continue Reading
We’ve been talking about it for months here on the blog and it’s finally here – the 32nd annual J&P Cycles Open House. Anamosa, Iowa, is the place to be this weekend as more than 20,000 motorcyclists from around the world converge on this small community for one of the biggest biking events in the Midwest.
Eastern Iowa may not be at the top of anyone’s list for vacation spots, but if your enthusiasm leans toward moveable vehicles on two wheels, Anamosa, Iowa, is your Midwest Mecca.
Not only is Anamosa the home of J&P Cycles, it’s also just up the road apiece from the National Motorcycle Museum. And we celebrated the museum’s first-ever Vintage Rally event the first weekend of June, with more than 1,600 in attendance. And all those folks weren’t Eastern Iowa natives, either. We had people rolling in from all over the country, including Texas, South Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Sixty-six bikes were registered for Saturday’s Vintage Bike Show and awards … Continue Reading
For as long as we can remember, J&P Cycles and the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building have been joined at the hip, and this year in Sturgis promises to be no different. J&P Cycles is always proud to be an Official Partner of the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, where gifted motorcycle designers from around the world display their unique builds during this, the granddaddy of all motorcycle rallies.
It’s not too late to make plans to visit Anamosa, Iowa, the weekend after next– June 3 through 5 — to take part in the first-ever National Motorcycle Museum Vintage Rally. A swap meet, vintage bike show and dedication of the museum’s new Motorcycles at Work exhibit are just a few of the happenings on the informal agenda for this event. And since you’re going to be in the area anyway, you might as well check out progress on the 1930 gas station restoration project.
J&P Cycles and “motorcycle swap meets” are pretty much synonymous because we have such a rich history with biker events. Our founders — John and Jill Parham — got the business off the ground 32 years ago. In fact, it was simple flyers highlighting motorcycle parts the couple had for sale at their makeshift swap meets that led to the very first J&P catalog. Today, the company is headquartered on a parcel of land the … Continue Reading
Anamosa, Iowa, might be considered small potatoes when it comes to municipalities, but we more than make up for it in style and attitude. While this portion of Eastern Iowa is called Grant Wood Country after the famous artist, Anamosa is more like motorcycle country. The home of J&P Cycles headquarters, people from across the United States and foreign countries make the trip to Anamosa to see where John and Jill Parham’s dream all began. Snuggled in the cornfields, J&P Cycles is 150,000-square-feet of two-wheel splendor.
Adjacent to J&P Cycles is the motorcycle-themed AmericInn Hotel that opened in June of 2009 with 50 guestrooms, including suites offering whirlpools, fireplaces, microwave … Continue Reading
If you’re a motorcycle literature buff, you might have heard about a great new publication by the folks who bring you American Iron and American Iron Bagger magazines. American Iron Garage is the first magazine of its type, combining a “how-to” tutorial and a catalog filled with parts, discounts and coupons.
At J&P Cycles, we make it a matter of pride to work hard and play hard, and Cinco de Mayo was a day when we played hard. For years, the bosses at J&P have hosted an employee appreciation event, where managers serve employees and employees, in turn, get a chance to dress their manager, supervisor and team leads in festive garb.
This year, we did things a little different. Instead of the usual employee appreciation event, we added a Cinco de Mayo celebration to it and every manager, supervisor and team lead donned a sombrero, decorated by their peers.
In addition, many also wore great-looking, festive costumes in observance of … Continue Reading
