Raise the Bar Regarding Motorcycle-Related Trips in New Year

Happy 2014Editor’s Note:What appears below is a guest blog post from veteran biker Jeff Maddox, who regularly holds court over at the JMAdog blog.

As we sit with our feet dangling on the edge of a new year, we have a lot to think about. Past rides, future rides and epic rides come to mind – along with memories made with old friends and the new ones we met along the way. We’ve seen a lot from the seat of our motorcycles and hopefully we’ll see so much more as the new year gets underway. Every mile we ride, whether good or bad, becomes a story to tell. You may … Continue Reading

Happy Holidays from Our Family to Yours

Zach, Bree, Kaiden and Kinlee Parham.

The holiday season is a great time of year at J&P Cycles – one we all enjoy. There are different festivities we take part in as a group: the holiday party, departmental gift exchanges and employee lunches. It’s hard to not have the holiday spirit.

As we reflect on 2013, the Open House Rally immediately comes to mind. More than 30,000 of you visited us during our 34th annual event in June. J&P’s Cowan Will Ride Again After Motorcycle Accident

Joe in EREditor’s Note: Back in November, we introduced you to Joe Cowan, J&P Cycles Network Administrator. At the time of the blog being published, Joe was in transition from our Iowa headquarters to Daytona Superstore. Unfortunately, shortly after arriving in Florida, Joe was involved in an accident. He has graciously agreed to share his story. After drizzling all day, it was time to go home. I dawned my rain pants over my jeans, put on my jacket and helmet. As I proceeded home down US1, the lanes were merging into one due to construction. I was aware of the black SUV in the left lane behind me as I … Continue Reading

Seasons: The Other ‘Cycle’ for Motorcyclists

winter-ride2Editor’s Note:What appears below is a guest blog post from veteran biker Jeff Maddox, who regularly holds court over at the JMAdog blog.

This is the time of year when the majority of riders have an internal struggle regarding whether or not to ride. For the most part, we are in the grips of ever-changing weather, colder temperatures and nasty roads. We always have our eyes on the weather for the sliver of hope that “today, we will ride.” We are cursed with this and I would argue that we think more about our bikes when we can’t ride, because when the weather is consistently good, we ride without … Continue Reading
