Meet the Team – J&P Cycles Returns Department
June 7, 2013 | By: Scott Holton
Today’s blog is to introduce the J&P Cycles returns department to you. This group is made up of six ladies who truly are the muscle behind the scenes at J&P Cycles. Their contributions keep our business running smoothly. Let’s start with the department head, Jessie.
She has been part of the J&P Cycles team since June 2005. Initially a data entry clerk, she moved into our purchasing department where she was the point of contact for vendor returns (which she still does today). She was promoted to the team lead in the returns department almost five years ago, and this past August she became the quality control/returns supervisor. Outside of J&P, Jessie spends as much time as possible with her two daughters – a two-year-old and a 6-year-old and they keep her very busy.
Michelle, our problem returns specialist, has been at J&P for almost nine years and most of it has been spent in the returns department. Her primary duties include taking care of mislabels, misships as well as catalog and web errors. Her motto is to “Help customers get the correct parts in a timely manner.” An avid outdoors lover hiking, canoeing and kayaking with her friends and family top her list of things she likes to do. Speaking of family, Michelle is helping raise four children, three birds, two dogs, one cat and about 20 fish! Wow, that’s a lot to keep up with!
Next up is Cindy an 8 year veteran here at J&P. She has worked in the returns area for the past six years. While Cindy does not have children of her own, she has provided a safe haven for a number of foster children. Her interests outside of work include spending quality family time with her nieces and nephews, scrapbooking, attending bluegrass festivals and photography. A dog named Chloe and a cat called Zakk Wilde keep her company. Recently Cindy picked up a Suzuki GN 125 to learn to ride motorcycles on. Watch out world!
Maranda is a second generation employee at J&P. Her father Merrill has been a mainstay at the Iowa Showroom back counter for many years. Maranda has been part of the J&P team for just over one year, and recently joined the returns department. A mother of two girls and a boy, her interests outside of work include bowling, movies and spending quality family time. Additionally, she says she’s always trying to get her dad to give her a ride on his FL whenever possible.
Cheryl works part-time in returns, coming most recently from the call center in June 2012. Her spare time is taken up by her two children and two grandbabies. She’s proud to announce another grandbaby is on the way!
Last, but certainly not least is Dianne. In March, she celebrated her 14th anniversary with J&P. Over seven of those 14 years have been as part of the returns team. Her outside interests are rather explosive – literally! This grandmother of three does pyrotechnics in her spare time! A member of the Pyrotechnic Guild International Convention, her efforts have placed them third in national competition for the past two years. Along with decorating the nighttime sky with her pyrotechnics, she says she is a very outdoorsy girl and loves camping, fishing and absolutely anything outdoors!
These ladies are just a few of the many people who work very hard every day and are dedicated to “Keeping the world on 2 wheels” here at J&P Cycles.
