Davenport Antique Swap Meet – A Must See for Antique Motorcycle Lovers

September 17, 2012 | By: J&P Cycles

Labor Day weekend in Eastern Iowa marks one of our favorite motorcycle events of the season, the AMCA Fall National hosted by the Chief Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA). A couple of J&P Cycles’ staff members spent the day there on Friday, Aug. 31, shooting video, taking photographs and talking with vintage riders and enthusiasts from across the country. The swap meet portion is a “Pickers Paradise” of sorts, where swap meet enthusiasts converge seeking out the rarest of rare motorcycle parts and memorabilia.

One of the highlights of this weekend is the half mile Antique Flat Track Races on Friday. With no clutch and no brakes, this event gives a taste of what motorcycle racing was like in the 1920’s. Plus, who doesn’t love checking out antique bikes? There are plenty to see at this event.

If you love antique motorcycles, the Davenport Antique Motorcycle Swap Meet is for you. The dates for 2013 are Aug. 29-31.

Great bikes define you from others and presents your personality.

Is Davenport full of holy joe,s ,or can one get a decent drink ,shall try and make next year from europe, nice vintage selection.

There is plenty to drink in Davenport, at the show is another story, all they serve at the show is Bud, Bud Lt, Miller Lt, and that sort of trash beer. So bring your own and fill it with real beer.
