J&P Celebrates Cinco de Mayo

At J&P Cycles, we make it a matter of pride to work hard and play hard, and Cinco de Mayo was a day when we played hard. For years, the bosses at J&P have hosted an employee appreciation event, where managers serve employees and employees, in turn, get a chance to dress their manager, supervisor and team leads in festive garb.
This year, we did things a little different. Instead of the usual employee appreciation event, we added a Cinco de Mayo celebration to it and every manager, supervisor and team lead donned a sombrero, decorated by their peers.
In addition, many also wore great-looking, festive costumes in observance of the event. J&P treated all employees to a wonderful, catered lunch – walking tacos with all the fixings. In Anamosa, Iowa — home to our World Headquarters — a salsa contest was held and employees sampled the entrants and picked their favorite recipe. It was a great time and a great lunch!
The 10th Annual Dave Pingel Memorial Employee Appreciation Day and Cinco de Mayo Celebration honors the late Dave Pingel, a J&P employee who passed away unexpectedly a few years ago. Dave was a great guy who loved J&P’s employee appreciation event and is missed by all!
