J&P Honors All Veterans Thursday Thru Sunday with Free Motorcycle Museum Admission

November 12, 2010 | By: J&P Cycles

Freedom – it’s something we all enjoy, and at times, take for granted. Here in the good old USA, we celebrate that freedom — and the men and women who make it possible — every year on Veterans Day. The holiday was originally designated as a time to recognize the end of World War I — “the war to end all wars.” WWI officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, but the fighting officially ended seven months earlier when an armistice took effect on Nov. 11. And that’s the date we officially designate as Veterans Day.

Of course, there were plenty of conflicts — large and small —after the “Great War,” and there continue to be wars today, but Veterans Day gives us all an opportunity to thank our troops for their sacrifices in all conflicts that involved members of our armed forces.

As usual, J&P goes out of its way to honor our servicemen on Nov. 11, and this year is certainly no exception. As you probably know, we’re partners in the National Motorcycle Museum, located just a mile away from our headquarters. And this year, the museum is offering free admission on Thursday the 11th thru Sunday the 14th to all veterans, those still serving in the military, and their immediate families.

The offer is only good Thursday thru Sunday, so if you’re in the Anamosa area this weekend and served our country, pack up the family and come check out the museum. If you visit our shop, you’ll see that our November sales flyers carry the freedom theme, recognizing our veterans and those currently serving for this freedom. We’ve got hundreds of military personnel and veterans that are loyal J&P Cycles customers and we’re honored to have them come into our business.

And those veterans aren’t always on the other side of the sales counter. J&P employs a number of veterans throughout the company. You can find veterans in our accounting department, on our retail showroom staff and among our warehouse associates. They’re all over the place!

So we want to thank veterans everywhere for their service in protecting our country. To all our servicemen and women, we thank you for your service!
