Gratitude and Thanks is a Huge Part of the J&P Family

We all remember the story of Thanksgiving from elementary school. We were taught that the first Thanksgiving was a harvest festival for the Pilgrims — a time to be thankful and express gratitude to God, family and friends.

As more and more people work in careers outside of farming, I’m glad we still celebrate “the harvest” and continue to give thanks. Certainly as the world seems to speed up and the pace of life seems to be going ever faster it is nice to arrive at this time of year and recount all of our blessings.

Here at J&P, we have a whole lot to be thankful for.  Our large family has experienced weddings, births and, unfortunately, the passing of loved ones.  We’ve celebrated the happy events, and in tough times we’ve seen an outpouring of support and love from co-workers, customers and friends.

Overall we’re reminded again that in spite of all of the hustle and bustle that this world brings to our doorstep, health, family, friends, faith and freedom are the things to be treasured and held dear. It was only five months ago that our president and founder John Parham sent a “thank you” note to his friends and family after his battle with pulmonary fibrosis. In that note, he said:

“…through these last two months, I have realized how important certain things in life really are. My family has provided never-ending support and has always been there for me, especially Jill. My friends have, as well. I have seen friends in the last 10 weeks, I haven’t seen in years, and have received cards from all over the world. It really makes you realize how lucky you are. Believing in God and praying for strength to continue to keep going every day is important. I had a lot of people praying for me and I appreciate it so much. When you think about it, the most important thing is your health. You have to take care of yourself. Then, you need your family, friends and faith to help support each other.”

As pause again this year and give thanks and share time with our families and friends, we here at J&P Cycles wish you all the best. Our hope is that you cherish the time with those closest to you. We thank you all for your business throughout the years. It’s certainly been our pleasure to serve you.

And to the men and women serving overseas – to you we give special thanks. You protect a freedom that is all too often taken for granted. From the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving from the J&P Cycles family.

Well said Tim. I’ve read that there is a collective consciousness, an evolved understanding and connection to things in our past, ancient past, that never goes away. The harvest is a part of that. It is a reminder that we cannot take the next season for granted, that we all need to work together to survive. And more than that we thrive in an environment of support. You hit a lot of that in your article and I appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and your J&P Cycles team.

Happy Thanks Giving to all!
