Thank You All for Your Prayers, Kind Words and Support

It’s been a week since John Parham successfully underwent a left lung transplant, and the J&P Cycles president continues to recuperate, growing stronger every day.

Prior to the transplant, John was using 65 to 70 percent oxygen regularly. Today he is able to function with absolutely no oxygen equipment at all. In addition, he’s able to walk and get around much better than before. The improvement is evident each day as he slowly regains his strength.

Our family is especially appreciative of the many prayers, words of encouragement and support we’ve received from friends and customers these past five months.

We would also like to thank the family of the unknown lung donor. While we do not have any details regarding the donor, we do know that two lives were saved as a result of this gift. Both John and another patient received the gift of life from this one unselfish donor. In addition to his love of motorcycles, John has now added support of organ transplant programs to his long list of passions. If you haven’t already done so, please consider signing up to be an organ donor. Not everyone is as lucky as John in receiving a vital transplant. About 18 people die each day in this country because there are not enough organs available for transplant.

For more information on organ donation, visit www.organdonor.gov.

While this success of John’s transplant is great news for all of us, his journey continues with the possibility of John’s body rejecting his new lung. He is being closely monitored and receiving anti-rejection medication on a daily basis. Our hopes are that John’s left lung will sustain him and return to him the quality of life he had prior to his illness in March.

Again, thanks to everyone for your prayers! We love you all and we never could have made it on this journey without all of your support!

Aww…What a very touching story. I always love to hear stories like this. When people or group of people sacrifice just to give money to someone in need. I’m really happy that John recovered from a lung transplant. Yeah, nothing is impossible. Prayer is really powerful. Like what they say, it can move mountains. Trust more in Him bro. Godbless.

The hard part is in front of you, the recovery can be long but if you keep to the program it can be suprisingly quick. When you write your donor family throught the OPO at the hospital, they don’t always respond but know that they appreciate your letter. Sometimes it’s too much for them to respond. The joy of your family is a bittersweet thing. I know your life outlook has changed because of this miracle, which it really is. Welcome to the recipient side . Have great rides!! Remember to protect yourself at all times.

God Speed John. Bless you and your family. We will continue to pray for you.

John,
Hope you continue to do well and keep on progressing throug your illness. We are praying for you and your family. Best wishes to you and yours.

Sincerely,
Ruth & Ronnie Dale

God answers prayer….May your health and faith remain strong and may the Lord continue to ride with you..as we know he will.

God Bless.

WOO! HOO! JOHN!
I recently learned that you were in deep need.
To hear that prayers have been answered is another testament that goodness still permeates the planet.
May prayers, blessings and goodness continue to permeate the planet.
Thank you and Jill for all that you.
May you recovery be strong
and good feelings long.
May you and your good work

Good to hear about your recovery. My thoughts and prayers to the donor hero and their family. Without people being donors out there, alot of people would suffer or die needlessly. i hope the road to full recovery is quick. Sounds like you are on your way! Ride safe,

Finally some good news. This has been a rough month loosing my Dad on the third of August. Hope you heal up and life for you returns to normal.

John,
May you always be in the wind, and your new lung lets you enjoy it!!! God Bless, peace for you and your loved ones.

JOHN,
ITS GOOD TO HEAR YOU ARE DOING GOOD.
I HAD A RIGHT LUNG TRANSPLANT (MY GIFT OF LIFE), DECEMBER 30, WILL BE 12 YEARS AND I AM DOING WELL.
THERE ARE ALOT OF MEDS AND THINGS YOU SHOULD DO AND NOT DO, BUT THE REWARD IS BREATHING WITHOUT HAVING TO CARRY OR PULL AROUND OXYGEN.
WITH THE HELP OF GOD AND YOUR LOVING FAMILY, MAY YOUR YEARS BE MANY.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PUSH FOR DONOR SIGN UP.
YOUR FELLOW “LUNGER”,
MITCH

Have had you and your family on my heart since I learned of your illness. Very pleased to see your picture and hear the great news.

Pray’s do work, when I asked GOD to look up the part number for lungs I knew he would find it fast! The other one is on backorder will ship very soon !! Good luck on your speedy recovery!GOD BLESS!!!!!!

I had no idea you were going through major medical challenges, John. You represent so much more than motorcycle parts……a Midwest guy with drive and ambition, showing what can be done in the free market system in a most “stand up” way. My prayers are with you and your family.

Glad to hear the good news! God Bless! May recovery continue to be well! and just as a side note I know many of us as mentioned have our licensed signed for donation but it’s actually even better if you sign up with the organ donation center as they mention in the letter http://www.organdonation.gov it actually registers you so that you are listed and their is no question about it

God bless you and your family. You are in my prayers. I am an organ donor it’s been on my drivers licence for years.

Glad to hear the good news. There is a lot of ALOHA out there in our biker family and good things can happen when people
are called upon. Prayers, kind words, support comes in many ways organ

I hope the whole family knows that we are paying for them.God bless..

Go John!! I guess that’s one of the few good reasons to miss Sturgis.
All good wishes.

John, you’re here to stay for many many years to come. God bless you and your family.

Great news about your surgery! When I started riding at the VERY advanced age of 59, lol, I also signed up to be an organ donor. (Hopefully not an omen) A wonderful thing to be able to help save a life!

Hope you have a good recovery. Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us.

I California we all can sign our drivers licenses to be a organ donor too.

Very good news! I am the guy (with my friends) from Dayton, Ohio you put a smile on in the Motorcycle Museum getting my picture with you back during your open house this year. Godspeed.

Glad to hear the good news, God is good. Our prayers are with you and your family. May you have a complete recovery. Ride safe! Dan

To John,
I pray that you get well soon, and also that you are able to recover from your surgery and have the health that you had prior to this illness.
I had gone through a recouperation from a couple of surgeries and it was and continues to be difficult to funtion as I did before my problems started. I took for granted my good health and now wish I could regain my former youthful good health. While I am a simular age to John I know the aging process can be a challange at times. Your family & friends can be your biggest support and get you through most anything while faith in God will get you through the most difficult times past, present and future.
I wish you the best and pray your good health returns to you. Thanks for your coming to our area for all the years in the past and present and I hope to visit the museum in the future.
Sincerly,
Mike Stedman

Best wishes for a speedy recovery John! I’m fairly new to your website as I’m just back in the wind with another Goldwing after a 15 year layoff. Hope to see you getting better each and every day. I also have been an organ doner for many years. Just hope I haven’t worn them all out by passing time! Dave

GOD’s speed on recovery! I have seen people around me benefit from Organ Donation and I signed my Donation card years ago and I encourage others to do so. Need, Pain, and Suffering, does not care what your race or color is. So all need to consider Organ Donation.

Best recovery wishes, also from Germany!

Just recovering from surgery, too, I understand how things feel.

John: Get well soon!!! Our motorcycle culture, and our Nation, need a good healthy American, such as yourself.

Although I am not a transplant survivor, I have visited the operation room several times and know how difficult is the recovery process.
God devised our bodies to be self repairing and have a lot of resilience. Hang there, be patient and do not rush it. Every day is a new opportunity to improve on yesterdays progress. One more suggestion: Bizarre as it may sound; include a good measure of laughter in your bag of tools.

Wishing you all the best, each day is a gift! Your family and friends are behind you! All the BEST!!

Our prayers were answered! My father recently passed due to lung diases. It was a very hard thing to deal with not only for him but for his loving family as well. However, my father took it in great spirits, in fact the day before he passed he told me that breathing is like sex, you don’t think about it until you can’t get enough! LOL! I hope you didn’t pull a stich John! Stay strong..I need parts!

Thanks John & co. best wishes, bw
