Something like a small city moved into Anamosa, Iowa, last weekend as we again raised the bar with the annual J&P Open House! More than 20,000 J&P customers and friends visited us Saturday and Sunday as we celebrated our 31st anniversary!
It was nonstop fun for our guests who arrived from near and far. We had customers roll down from Canada, a nice couple who drove up from Georgia, and guests from Virginia and many other distant states. So, a big “Thank you” to one and all for making our Open House such a huge success. We owe it all to you!!
This year’s entertainment provided our guests with plenty of “ooohs” and “ahhhs!” Circus Una gave crowds plenty of high-flying thrills as its daredevils performed well above the hard earth on a thin wire. The Ill Conduct Motorcycle Stunt Show has been a crowd pleaser in the past and this year was no exception. And the stretch Timeline Motorcycle didn’t just sit pretty during the event. All seven engines on this beast of a bike were fired up Sunday afternoon.
The motorcycle rodeo was a success on Saturday and the Ill Conduct Motorcycle Stunt Show again proved to be a crowd pleaser. The Teresi Dyno-Drag Semi challenged event-goers to test their motorcycles skills, and two ride-in bike shows were well received.
Arlen and Cory Ness signed autographs and posed for photographs with guests. The National Motorcycle Museum debuted in its new location, highlighting the all-new AwesomeNess exhibit. The exhibit and the museum were most popular with guests! A silent auction benefiting the museum raised about $6,500 – the most ever raised for this monument to motorcycles.
With more than 80 manufacturers on hand to display and talk about their products, there was no absolutely problem finding the best motorcycle parts available in the industry. In many cases, guests were able to purchase those items in the J&P showroom and have them installed while they waited.
Based on exit interviews, it was apparent that this year’s Open House provided a spectacular time for everyone! Next year’s event is scheduled for June 25 and 26, so mark your calendars now. It’s never too early to make plans to attend! Thank you again to all of you who showed up and made this annual event such a rousing success!
