Meet the Team: J&P Cycles’ Iowa Showroom Folks

July 1, 2010 | By: J&P Cycles

You can tell a lot about a business by the people they choose to hire. Here at J&P Cycles, we take this notion quite seriously, and it’s at the top of our minds when we’re hiring for any department within the company.

This is evident whenever you visit our showrooms in either Iowa or Florida. There are a dozen employees at the Iowa showroom and nine of those working in customer service. The other three are the friendly folks who greet customers when they enter the showroom or talk with them over the phone.

Here now is your opportunity to meet each member of our Iowa showroom staff:

Troy Porter, showroom supervisor, has been with J&P for six years. His area of specialty is his knowledge of motorcycle parts and accessories. Troy does not own a motorcycle yet, but is planning on getting one in the near future.

Merrill Bonney has worked at J&P for 11 years, but he has a combined 30 years of experience in helping motorcycle riders find what they need for their rides. He has a great knowledge of parts and accessories.

Mitch Helle is a graduate of the motorcycle program offered by Iowa Lakes Community College. Mitch rides a 1988 Harley-Davidson Softail Springer and has a general knowledge of everything related to H-D.

Tony Lueck has been with J&P Cycles for five years. A graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, he specializes in H-D. In addition to helping customers in the J&P showroom and tooling on his own ride, Tony enjoys building bikes. He has built a custom rigid Panhead and Softail.

Becky Mull keeps the showroom stocked with the latest and greatest products available! An employee of J&P for more than a decade, she enjoys taking trips with her husband on their 2005 Heritage Softail.

Bob Vermillion is back this summer to assist during the busy season. With 29 years of wrenching bikes under his belt, Bob recently began a new project for himself – rebuilding a 1972 Shovelhead. He hopes to restore it to its original condition.

This is Tammy Tharp’s first summer in the J&P showroom. She transferred in May from the Call Center. Tammy’s been with J&P for more than a year and she helps Becky with the restocking chores in the showroom.

Steve Eiselstein has been with J&P for seven years. When he’s not in the showroom he can be found helping out at numerous events throughout the country in our 53-foot Mobile Showroom.

Darry Scheper is in his10th year with J&P. The bike he currently rides started out as a FXB (Sturgis belt). We now call it the FXBLH because of the number of modifications he has made to it over the years to suit his needs. Darry specializes in Shovelhead Big Twins and Ironhead Sportsters.

Katie Ricklefs has three years of experience here at J&P. A college student, Katie spends her summers here, helping out during riding season.

Linda Mardorf is the newest member of the J&P Cycles’ showroom team. A retired schoolteacher, Linda greets customers in the evenings as they enter J&P or phone in to our headquarters.

Abby Faust is another new member of the showroom team. A weekend receptionist, she has been with us for a few months and loves the variety of people she gets to meet!

Scherrie Riniker rounds out the showroom team and has been the friendly face and voice to the showroom for the past 10 years. Scherrie has a bright smile and knack for chatting with our customers.

There you have it. The helpful and talented Iowa-based J&P Cycles Showroom team! Friendly faces (and voices) await you whenever you visit the Iowa Showroom or call us directly.
