The first of four fun-filled
summertime swap meets is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, May 23, on the sprawling J&P Cycles world headquarters in Anamosa, Iowa.
In fact, J&P Cycles and “motorcycle swap meet” are pretty much synonymous, because J&P has a rich history with such events. It’s how our founders — John and Jill Parham — got their business off the ground more than three decades ago. Simple flyers stating parts J&P had available for sale at their makeshift swap meets is what led to the first J&P catalog. Today, the company is headquartered on a parcel the size of a good city block that has become a Mecca of sorts for motorcycle riders across the country.
“Swap Meets have always been near and dear to my heart,” said John Parham. “When I was working to get J&P® going, those simple flyers started it all. I am thrilled to bring this event directly to J&P® and hope the public enjoys it as much as I have,” he adds.
If you’re interested in being a vendor, 10×20 spaces are available for only $20. Contact Mary Beth at mbhanna [at] jpcycles [dot] com for additional details. Additional dates for this year’s event are Sunday, July 25; Sunday, Aug. 22; and Sunday, Sept. 19. Admission is free and there’s plenty of free parking onsite.
