Last week we told you about the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. Today we want to tell about an opportunity to support the Museum and win an S&S 93″ KN-series-flathead power Knucklehead motorcycle.
Each year since 2002, the National Motorcycle Museum has held a raffle benefiting the Museum’s general fund. Now in its 8th year, the 2010 raffle offers anyone who ponies up $5.00 per ticket the chance to win a rare customized bike.
As you can see from the photos included in today’s post, style and class is what this year’s raffle is all about. With an S&S Knucklehead style engine powering this year’s raffle bike, gone are the days when you have to worry about being stranded on the side of the road with a poorly performing bike. Featuring modern components carefully selected and utilized together to create the ultimate retro classic machine, this bike is a no-brainer at $5.00 per pop.
Optimized with a Rivera 6-speed transmission, you’ll have plenty of gears to choose from, no matter what style of riding you’re doing. The Primo Pro-Clutch provides positive clutch engagement with minimal pull at the clutch lever. The sprung custom leather Lepera solo seat will help smooth out the ride so you can stay in that saddle as long as you want. The Performance Machine brakes ensure you to stop whenever and wherever you like, unlike the old mechanical drum brakes found on stock bikes from the same era.
This years raffle bike wouldn’t be possible with the support of the good folks over at Paughco, who graciously donated the frame, tapered rear leg springer, wheels, rear fender, and many other parts essential to building this bike. Le Pera built a leather solo seat and pillion pad, as well as provided the material for the custom dash. The bike is further benefited by super retro Avon tires which only add to the bike’s classic style. The Dakota Digital speedo/tach has everything that that you would ever want in a speedo and more.
As a side note, Hot Bike magazine will be covering the build of this year’s Museum raffle bike in its May, June and July issues.
As we told you last week, the National Motorcycle Museum is moving into new facilities later this year where it can showcase even more cool motorcycles and memorabilia. By purchasing a raffle ticket, you not only get a chance to win a cool one-of-a-kind custom Knucklehead… you will also be directly contributing to efforts to help make it possible for the Museum to be enjoyed by even more people than before.
