Save the Date: J&P Cycles’ 2010 Open House
February 24, 2010 | By: Angi Kearney
Every June, a roar can be heard echoing from the cornfields here in eastern Iowa as motorcycle riders from across the country travel to J&P Cycles for our Annual Open House. Last year’s 30th anniversary event drew more than 22,000 people to our Anamosa, Iowa headquarters.
As you might have guessed, Anamosa is a small community, so the population of our town more than tripled during our last Open House (the first ‘weekend extravaganza’ but certainly not the last)!
J&P owners John and Jill Parham started the Open House years ago as a way to thank loyal customers for their support throughout the year. Now, we have the honor of calling this event ‘the largest two-day motorcycle event in the Midwest.’
This year’s event will be held Saturday, June 26, and Sunday, June 27. Make plans now to attend! Located in the heart of the Midwest, our Anamosa, Iowa, headquarters is about four hours from every major metropolitan city the Midwest has to offer, making the J&P Open House the perfect “excuse” for a great weekend getaway!
What will you see if you attend? Well, for starters, more than 70 motorcycle parts and accessories manufacturers will be on site showcasing their latest wares. Plus, there will be tons of entertainment. Something new for 2010 is Circus Una, the high-flying entertainment act featuring two women (one’s a dancer and the other’s a rider), who impossibly balance themselves and a motorcycle on a thin wire raised high off the ground. Additionally, there will be Ride In Bike shows, Motorcycle Rodeo, silent auction, and much more, including activities for your children and the whole family.
A great perk of the J&P Open House is the shopping. Most products in our showroom will be 10 percent off (15 percent for Gold Club members), and a portion of the one-acre warehouse will be devoted to drastically reduced clearance items (up to 50 percent off).
The National Motorcycle Museum, also located in Anamosa, will be open in its new, larger location, and the new exhibit Awesome-Ness will open that weekend, and there’s even a great chance that Arlen Ness will be on hand for the weekend.
Do you need any other reasons to make a trip out to Anamosa, Iowa? As the event draws closer, we’ll be posting the latest schedule events here on the blog.
